Estate Wines for Everyday Living · Since 1943
Our Story
Two families. One ranch. Four generations. Since 1943, the Bliss family has farmed the Hopland hillside above the Russian River. Since 1980, the Brutocao family has bottled wine from it. The two became one when Len Brutocao Sr. and Martha Bliss met at UC Berkeley — and the marriage of Italian winemaking heritage and California farming roots has been in every bottle ever since.
It started with Irv Bliss, who began farming this Hopland hillside in 1943 — pears, prunes, walnuts, and grapes on the home ranch above the Russian River. That same land, farmed by the same family for four generations, grows the Bliss wines today.
Bliss is the easy, everyday side of the family: estate-grown wines at a price that makes a weeknight feel like the weekend. Bright, fruit-forward, and made to pour and share — no added sugar, no concentrates, just honest fruit from the home ranch turned into wine for the table.
Grown in sun-drenched southern Mendocino County, family farmed for four generations, and solar-powered since 2023 — the kind of practical, long-term farming you do when you plan to still be here in another four generations.
Real Farmers. Real Wine.
